Review What Will Happen
The extension compares your GotSport schedule to existing LeagueApps games and shows you exactly what will change.
New game: Green text in LeagueApps fields, cyan "New
event will be created" status
Existing game: "Has updates available" status with red
strikethrough showing old values
Game Status at a Glance
- Green text in LeagueApps fields - New game that will be created
- "New event will be created" (cyan status) - Ready to import
- "Exact match found" (red status) - Game already exists, no action needed
- "Possible duplicate" (yellow status) - Looks like this game already exists
- "Manually matched" - You pointed this game at an event yourself
- "Forcing new event" - A match was found, but you chose to create a new game anyway
Matched the wrong game? See Fixing a Wrong Match under Troubleshooting.
Fixing a Missing Venue (📍)
If a GotSport venue has no LeagueApps equivalent, the LeagueApps card turns amber and its Location line shows what will actually be sent: TBD ⚠️ not mapped, with a 📍 Set venue button right next to it.
Clicking it asks two quick questions. First which venue — type a few letters to narrow the list. Then, if that venue has fields, which field (or "Whole venue"), with "← Choose a different venue" to go back. Leave "Remember this for …" ticked and the extension applies the same venue to every other game there, and to every future import, automatically.
"Missouri Rush Sports Park" has no LeagueApps match,
so the Location reads TBD ⚠️ not mapped with 📍 Set venue beside it
Picked the wrong one?
Click the ✕ next to the 📍 to clear it. That forgets the saved venue, puts the game back to TBD ⚠️ not mapped, and reverts the other games at that venue too — so you can start over.

Understanding Game Status
Seeing What Changed
For games with updates, you'll see:
- Strikethrough - Current value in LeagueApps
- Regular text - New value from GotSport
Strikethrough = old value, plain text = new
value
Previewing Notes
Click 📝 on any game card to see the generated notes:
red 📝 indicator means notes will be updated
Notes include game details, location, opponent, and a GotSport Match # for tracking schedule updates.
How Opponent Teams Work
Team Matching
The extension automatically matches opponent team names from GotSport to teams in LeagueApps. It handles abbreviations and minor typos, so "Lou Fusz Athletic Red Star Samba" matches "LFA Red Star Samba".
Creating Missing Teams
When an opponent doesn't exist (like "Sporting STL Blue"), the extension creates it as an external team automatically. You'll see these marked with ➕ in the Team Analysis section before import.
💡 Example: LFA Playing Sporting STL
Your LFA Red Star Samba team plays "Sporting STL Blue" but that team doesn't exist in LeagueApps yet. The extension creates "Sporting STL Blue" as an external opponent before importing the game. Next time you play them, they already exist!
Customizing Team Settings
Each team can have its own arrival times, game notes, and custom messages. Click the ⚙️ button next to any team name.
Customize messages, timing, and which details to include
in game notes
Common Settings
- Home/Away Messages - Add kit colors or special instructions (e.g., "Wear White kit, bring water")
- Arrival Time - How early players should arrive (default: 30 minutes)
- Game Duration - Length of games (default: 60 minutes)
The settings modal shows a live preview as you make changes!
Notes & Re-Importing
What to Include in Notes
Toggle which details appear in game notes:
- 🏆 Event Title - League name (e.g., "SLYSA Fall 2025")
- Game Number - Sequential number (e.g., "game #5")
- 🏅 Division - Division name
- 📍 Venue - Location/field name
Re-Importing Updated Schedules
When GotSport publishes schedule changes, re-import the schedule and the extension shows exactly what changed. Use saved schedules to do it in one click.
Click 🔄 to re-import when times or locations
change
💡 Example: Time Change for LFA Red Star Samba
GotSport moved Saturday's game from 10am to 2pm. Just open the extension on the LFA Red Star Samba team page, click 🔄 next to the saved schedule, and re-import. The extension detects the time change and shows it in red - select and update that game only.
Troubleshooting
Extension Won't Load
Problem: Extension icon shows but clicking it does nothing
Solution: Make sure you're on a LeagueApps team calendar page (not the main dashboard or other pages)
"Could Not Connect" Error
Problem: Error appears after clicking Import
Solution: Refresh the LeagueApps page and try again
Location Shows as "Unknown"
Problem: Game location from GotSport doesn't match anything in LeagueApps
Solution: Contact support@golytics.net with the GotSport location name (e.g., "Buder Park Field 3"). We'll add it to the mapping.
Fixing a Wrong Match (🔗)
Problem: A game matched the wrong calendar entry — common when you play the same opponent twice in a day.
Solution: Every GotSport card has a 🔗 button in its bottom-right corner. Click it to see every existing LeagueApps game, closest in time first — start typing to filter by date, opponent or venue. Pick one to update it instead, or choose "➕ Create a new event" to import the game as new.
Each LeagueApps game can only be claimed by one game, so choosing one automatically frees it from whichever game had it. Practices and trainings are never listed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use this for multiple teams?
Yes! Perfect for coaches managing multiple teams. Each team has separate settings for messages, timing, and notes.
Will this overwrite my existing games?
No. The extension only updates games if you manually select them after seeing the "Has Updates" status. You're always in control.
What if I import the same schedule twice?
Games will show as "Exact Match" - no duplicates will be created.
Can I customize game notes?
Yes! Click ⚙️ next to your team to toggle which details appear (league name, division, location, etc).
Why isn't a location matching?
We maintain a mapping of GotSport location names to LeagueApps locations. If one is missing, email support@golytics.net with the location name and we'll add it.
Can I import tournament schedules?
Yes, but all games import as regular games. Tournament-specific features coming in a future update.
Is my data private?
Yes! Everything stays in your browser. The extension never sends your data to external servers. Settings are stored locally on your computer.
